Tory candidate watchlist leak - name the dodgy dozens...

Luke Akehurst picks up a post by Michael Crick about tonight's Newsnight where Crick has uncovered minutes of a meeting of senior Conservatives expressing concern at the calibre of some of their candidates selected to fight the next election.

They can't be referring to Hampstead and Kilburn's Chris "Filth" Philp (he so beloved of his own local Conservative group) surely...

See the astonishing pdf pictured here, including a remarkable admission on the Tory failure on ethnic minority and women candidates.

"Of 250 candidates, 70 are women and 10 are of an ethnic minorities [sic] - something extra needs to be done to ensure that these ones are not lost."

Shouldn't we know the identities of dodgy dozens of suspect Tory PPCs?

camden council rotten landlord said...

Kind of you to open up debate on your blog cllr, don't mind if I do.

Here goes ... as I see it Camden labour party needs to get its own house in order and sort out its own failings before sticking the boot into other political parties however deserved it may be .... many residents have not forgotten why they didn't vote for your lot at the last local elections and still won't have forgotten come 2010.

Residents also remember how golden boy Raj Chada, on the front page of the cnj, pleaded with residents to be given another chance .... oh dear pleading didn't work because residents had had enough of being taken for a ride by your party.

You want to do some good for the residents of camden and your own party - sort out the dirty practices you and the other political parties in camden so frequently participate in. Sort out the dirty practices of council officers. Put the best interests of the residents who elect you onto the council, above the self interests of your party and senior council officers.
