The Guardian runs the map of the spread of BNP membership across the country, following the leak of the membership lists by what appears to be a disgruntled former member. Their membership in Camden seems to be very low, with a couple of members in Gospel Oak and, bizarrely, in Bloomsbury.
There was some epicaricacy (new word eh!) with the publication of membership by postcode, as you can see on this.
This poses a dilemma for many public sector organisations who now have found out that their employees are signed up members of a racist organisation. Certainly the prison service finds political activity with a racist/neo-nazi organisation incompatible with service. I have now asked Camden Council to investigate what its policy is in relation to staff who are members of the BNP.
On the blogs some Tories are asking for BNP members in their ranks to be expelled. Meanwhile Hackney's Luke Akehurst notes that the BNP have also just sent out 200,000 letters with the usual racist insinuations all evident.
