Labour's Awale Olad,a local youth worker, has been making a splash in the local press with an article in the Camden Gazette and a letter in the Camden New Journal.
Meanwhile the Greens seem to be slipping due to their failure to choose local Sian Berry - who may have been in a strong position to win had she stood.
The election, as Labour's Tulip Siddiq writes, was caused by the cover-up surrounding previous Lib dem councillor Philip Thompson moving to Arizona. The Lib dem's choice, career politico Nick Russell, is hardly local - he lives in NW6.
Update - hapless Kentish Town Greens plummet further after making the strange decision not to support the Torriano pub in its bid to stay open:
Owner Suzie Martin attacks them on Facebook, under the title of "What a Load of Green Bollocks":
It is to my dismay that I read in the Gazette today a quote from the Green party, "There's a chance the appeal will be successful and the Torriano will be lost" so in other words the Greens claim to have made the right decision by condemning my family to the streets, and placing trust in the developers who have already screwed us for £50,000 and then refused to renew our renewable lease! After they visited me on Sunday at the Torriano to explain their moves, I accepted their apologies, although questioned their capabilities as a party, who are supposedly all about the community. So I'm amazed that they have backtracked again and decided to publicly stick by their decision! Nothing is as it seems !! Green party simply aren't interested in our community ..they are either just a little bit incompetent or just a little right wing ..but they sure aren't what they claim to be !!! how disappointing!!!!
