On a slightly more positive note, though - our excellent local candidate Michael Nicholaides posted a good result in Highgate, pushing the Tories into third place.
The by-election was caused due to the resignation of the one Conservative candidate, Paul Barton, in a ward with two existing Green councillors.
Well done to the Green candidate.
The final results were:
Greens: 1482
Labour: 1185
Tory: 1180
Lib Dem: 633
Spoilt: 23
